Fish In At Holmes Lake

Several members of CFF came out to enjoy a fine fall day fly fishing at Holmes Lake in Lincoln on Saturday afternoon.  The lake has recently been stocked with seasonal rainbow trout and one of our new members managed to catch a couple of those beautiful fish.  Also caught were several bluegills, black crappie and a couple bass.  Kenneth Whisenhunt landed the trophy of the day with his  fantastic 26" catfish, pictured above.  What a great day on the water with great friends!

October Club Meeting

The Cornhusker Fly Fishers will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Aksarben Aquarium, Schramm State Park at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30).  Our guest speaker for the evening will be Mr. Branden O'Hare of O'Hare Taxidermy in Omaha.  He will be giving us an over view of his work, how we can prepare our trophy for delivery to a taxidermist, and he has some deer hair that he is donating to club members.  You may check out his business at the link below.
