Fly Fishing School Success!!!

Cornhusker Fly Fishers had an absolute blast this past Saturday teaching a full class of new fly fishers.  We braved the heat, humidity, and seventeen year cicadas to learn how to cast a fly rod and catch our first fish on a the fly. We even had an absolute whopper of a largemouth bass caught by Jackson, a young man that just learned how to cast a fly rod.

Cornhusker Fly Fishers would like to thank all the students who participated in this year's Fly Fishing School.  We would also like to thank the Nebraska Game & Parks for allowing us to use their great facilities and equipment. 

CFF Meeting this Wednesday Evening June 17th

The monthly Cornhusker Fly Fishers meeting will be held at Louisville State Recreation Area this Wednesday evening, June 17th.  Hot dogs, buns, and condiments will be on the menu at 6 PM.  Please bring a side to share.  After grilling out, we'll fly fish until dark!  Don't forget to bring your best rendition of an Elk Hair Caddis for the Fly of the Month contest!

$15.00 per person, 16 and older

Classes will include an introduction to fly fishing equipment, instruction in fly tying, fish identification, lines & knots, casting, and catch & release fishing at one of Schramm Park’s sunfish ponds.  Lunch will be provided, including bottled water.  Please bring sunglasses or other eye protection, a hat, sun screen, insect repellent, and dress appropriately for the weather.  Class size is limited to 24, so please sign up early to ensure your spot.  You can register by sending us an E-Mail, or by sending in the coupon below to our PO Box.  Check our website for more information.  www.cornhuskerflyfishers.org
