This is membership renewal time!!! If you renew your 2021 membership before December 16th, you’ll automatically be entered into our new rod raffle! We’re raffling off several new Cabela’s C.G.R. Fly Rods and a few extra surprises.  Also, Cornhusker Fly Fishers is now accepting electronic payment renewals.  Email the primary club email account cornhuskerflyfishers@gmail.com with your membership information, and we’ll send you an electronic invoice. Paying your 2021 club dues and getting in on the raffle couldn’t be easier! And don’t worry, we’re still taking cash or check renewals through our P.O. Box.

Don’t forget to send some of your 2020 fishing pictures to the club e-mail address!!! We’ll have a slideshow during our December Livestream!

We’ve updated our Fly of the Month contest for the rest of 2020, and this month we’re tying TWO flies to make up for lost time. Tie your best rendition of a Mercury Midge and the Unsinkibeetle.  Submit a photo of your flies to – cornhuskerflyofthemonth@gmail.com by the end of the day on TUESDAY November 17th.  Once all the entries are submitted, a survey will be forwarded our club members to vote for their favorite fly of the month.  The winner will be announced on our November 19th live stream.

Thursday November 12th Larry and Eric will be tying the Unsinkibeetle and Mercury Midge flies on the Club’s Facebook Live Stream.  Tune in at 8pm!

Wednesday November 18th the Club will have a social distancing FISH OUT at Jenny Newman Pond at Platte River State Park.  Social distancing means maintaining a minimum one fly rod’s length from other people at all times.  There will not be a picnic or pot luck, you’re responsible for your own food and beverages.  The club will officially be there at 6pm, but feel free to show up earlier or stay late.  Please keep an eye on your email or our website for updates and possible cancelations.

Our Thursday November 19th Facebook Live stream will feature Eric and Larry discussing their favorite fly fishing Films, Books, and everything Fly Fishing Media that keeps them thinking about fishing when not on the water.  They’ll also answer all your fly fishing questions.  No Facebook account required, just follow the link from our club’s website, cornhuskerflyfishers.org.

If the weather holds out, Saturday November 21st the Club will have a social distancing FISH OUT at Holmes Lake in Lincoln, Nebraska and Standing Bear Lake in Omaha, NE.  The club will officially be there from 10am to 2pm, however feel free to fish whenever you can!  Rainbow trout are stocked and ready to bite.  There will not be a picnic or pot luck, you’re responsible for your own food and beverages.
